24-Inch Mandala Mirror Wall Art – Pink Sunburst, Scalloped

The only one of our mandalas that is not a circle. Pink and white petals radiate from a 14-inch mirror and then keep going past where the rim would be, so the outer edge is shaped like a flower rather than cut round. On a wall it throws a petalled shadow, which is half the reason to choose it.

How it is painted — and cut

The shaped edge is the difference. Each petal is cut into the MDF before any paint goes on, which means the painting has to follow a profile that is already fixed rather than the painter deciding where to stop. Then the rings are laid freehand from the centre out: magenta, white, a fine dark outline, gold at the tips.

Where it goes

Against a plain wall, where the silhouette can be seen. On a charcoal or deep-coloured wall it is at its best — the shaped edge disappears into a busy background and comes alive against a flat one. Bathrooms and powder rooms too; the 14-inch mirror is usable and the pink survives artificial light.

Hanging it

Two hooks on the back rather than one, so the disc cannot rotate — which matters more here than on the round mandalas, because a shaped edge sitting crooked is obvious. At 3.22 kg use screws into drywall anchors, or a stud. Screws and wall anchors are not supplied.

Care

Dust with a dry, soft cloth, working out along the petals. Glass cleaner on the centre mirror only, applied to the cloth rather than sprayed.

Frequently asked questions

Is the edge really shaped?
Yes — cut into petals, not printed to look that way. It is the only mandala in the range that is not a plain circle.

Is the centre a real mirror?
Yes — real glass, 14 inches across.

How pink is it?
Magenta and white with dark outlining, not pastel. It is a bright piece.
